NEW YORK, Sept 2 /PRNewswire/ — Conde Nast Media Group announced today that Ashanti, Carrie Underwood, Ciara, Fergie, Keyshia Cole, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield, and Sheryl Crow will join together on stage at Radio City Music Hall for the 5th Anniversary of FASHION ROCKS in a Live performance of “Just Stand Up,” the unprecedented charity single in support of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a new initiative to raise philanthropic dollars for accelerating ground-breaking cancer research. The star-studded television premiere of the song will be fed live from the FASHION ROCKS stage to the Stand Up To Cancer’s special, which will be airing simultaneously on ABC, CBS, and NBC on Friday, September 5th. Proceeds from the FASHION ROCKS concert will also be donated to the charity.
FASHION ROCKS, a star-studded extravaganza celebrating the relationship between fashion and music, is a production of Conde Nast Media Group. Richard Beckman, president of Conde Nast Media Group and Don Mischer serve as executive producers. FASHION ROCKS will air the following Tuesday night, September 9, 2008 in a two-hour special on the CBS television network (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

Lifetime Networks and Rock the Vote Friday announced that Ashanti will perform at the “Every Woman Counts” celebration at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 10 p.m. Other special guests include Fran Drescher and Brigid Brannagh and Sally Pressman from the network’s hit series Army Wives.
Network officials said the red carpet will begin at 10 p.m. at the Cowboy Lounge in Denver. The party is also sponsored by White House Black Market, the retailer of the dress Michelle Obama wore during her appearance on The View.
“I use my voice to empower women,” Ashanti said in a statement. “Thirty-five million eligible women didn’t vote in the 2004 presidential election, and it is my hope that this event will help shine a spotlight on this statistic and inspire women to get involved.”

That’s when “Just Stand Up” hits airwaves and iTunes. The song features Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. All sales of the star-studded single will benefit cancer research.
The charity tune was conceived by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, who produced it with longtime creative colleague Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.
All 15 singers will share the stage to perform the song live on Sept. 5 during the “Stand Up to Cancer” television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS. Other stars expected to turn out for the hourlong fund- and awareness-raising program include Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Katie Couric, Sally Field, Salma Hayek, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker and Reese Witherspoon.
Founded in 2007, Stand Up to Cancer is a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation that calls on entertainment-industry people and platforms to help fight cancer.
