NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — A quick trivia question: Other than The Beatles, which artist has had three singles in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart at the same time?
The answer is Ashanti, who pulled off the feat back in 2002, when her self-titled debut album ruled the world of R&B. Six years later, the singer is firmly established as one of the genre’s dominant forces, amassing a who’s who of in-demand producers for her fourth album, “The Declaration,” released in June.

To get voters to think about not just who, but what, they are voting for, GAP has launched it’s “Vote For ____” initiative that provides a wearable platform — aka a shirt — for Americans to express, by filling in the blank, what they want out of this ever-important election.
Starting October 15, the shirts will be available at gap.com/votefor and will also be available for purchase in the store from October 23- November 4.

AJM Records is set to release 12-never-before-released recordings penned by Ashanti in 2001 while signed exclusively to AJM Records. This composite of work was completed before AJM’s joint venture with Murder Inc/Def Jam in 2002. The set is called “The Vault” and is set to be released on October 14th, and the first single will be “Let’s Do Something Crazy” featuring Flo-Rida.

Seems like “Can’t Stop” is happening all over again, you guys can hear two snippets from the album here.
Any Ashanti fan will be able to tell you that both “Let’s Do Something Crazy” and “Imagine Life” are not “unreleased” records. Lyrics to both can be found in her 2002 book of poetry “Foolish/Unfoolish: Reflections On Love“. “Let’s Do Something Crazy” was even featured in a “Dysfunktional Family” soundtrack under the title “All My” with a completely different beat. “Imagine Life” was also featured in the demo-type album “Can’t Stop” that was released by various record labels under the title “You Always Seem To Make Me Feel“.
Keep checking back, I will update on this topic as more information comes about.

Here’s an article in which Ashanti is mentioned. Broadway’s own Stewart Lane, is hoping to land Alicia Keys or Ashanti as the lead role to play legendary songstress Lena Horne in her early years. Ashanti, however, has previously stated in various interviews that she wanted to stay away from singing roles because she wanted to showcase other things, as she is already a singer. I personally think it would be great for Ashanti because Broadway will give her more exposure. Not that our GRAMMYaward-winning Princess needs it, but it shows versatility. We believe in our girl and if indeed this is true, hope she lands the role.
Over lunch, we chatted with Broadway powerhouses, Mr. Broadway himself, Stewart Lane and his producing partner and wife Bonnie Comley. They were positively thrilled that their young daughter Leah, despite her horse having been unwell, snared three ribbons in competition. They were also very excited about their new musical based on the life of the legendary songstress Lena Horne. Stewart gave us all the dish on the new production for which he hopes to land Alicia Keyes or Ashanti to play Lena in her early years. They’ll first present the autobiographical musical, “Stormy Weather” on the West Coast. The musical is conceived and written by Sharleen Cooper Cohen and directed by Michael Bush. Its score borrows from the Great American Songbook, featuring such writers as Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, Rodgers & Hart, Billy Strayhorn and more. The show is based on the book, “Lena Horne Entertainer,” published by Chelsea House.
