8. “The Way That I Love You,” Ashanti: No, that isn’t a misprint — Ashanti did actually make this list. While her vocal performance on this woman-scorned ballad is good, it’s the dramatic music accompanying her that is the song’s true star — it grabs you from the opening, haunting piano notes.
Metro: Ashanti played Santa Claus as she gave out Pleo dinosaurs to foster children at Planet Hollywood Times Square, in New York.
Dressed in a white jumper, Miss Sixty jeans and cream boots, the R&B superstar distributed the technologically advanced robot dinosaurs, valued at nearly 350 US dollars and which have been donated by Ugobe, to ten lucky children from the Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families (EGSCF), a New York-based charity which protects and cares for those living in foster care.
“I think it’s always wonderful to give back and anything involving the kids is always great,” said Ashanti.
“It’s always good to give back and give toys to the kids, especially those less fortunate than us. It makes me feel good to be able to do that.”
And the 28-year-old revealed she loves children, although she isn’t thinking of having her own any time soon.
I love kids! I love kids, you know. I actually used to work in a day-care centre when I was younger, throughout high school, so I love kids,” she added.
As Ashanti handed out the gifts, she chatted to the kids, telling one that when he grows up, he’ll have big muscles.
She then posed for photographs with them and signed autographs.
