So as many of you know, on Monday night Ashanti was a part of a one-night-only benefit show of the very popular Broadway musical “Wicked”, titled “The Yellow Brick Road not Taken”. All proceeds will be donated to Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project. Ashanti gave a very special performance of the closing song “Defying Gravity”, which MTV, BROADWAY and many others (including reviews from attendees) have referred to as the highlight of the night. Experience the new star-studded charitable single “Just Stand Up” - featuring some one the biggest names in music today including Ashanti! The song will be available in the iTunes store staring September 2nd, and will be performed on ABC, CBS and NBC simultaneously on September 5th during the “Stand Up To Cancer” nationwide fundraising event. All proceeds from the song will be donated to cancer research.
